workstation is a Toshiba U205-S5067 notebook with 4GB of RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 CPU. Once that worked, I reloaded the ESXi software on the X4100 and the system grabbed an IP address. This situation happen when I tried to install ESXi 6 update 2 on Sun Fire X4150. Once the monitor session on the switch was stopped, the DHCP function started working fine. This means any traffic generated by the ESX server to the switch was simply dropped by the switch. I understand that this is not on the supported hardware list, but I'd like to give ESXi a try before purchasing a system to run it on long-term.
